CSR

Our way of doing business

Here you can read how Vingino handles its social, ecological, and ethical responsibilities.

We are convinced that a well-considered and responsible policy in this area is necessary for our overall strategy.

Quality is more than ensuring that our products meet or even exceed our customers' expectations. It also means that our articles are produced under fair conditions and that consumers are aware of our commitment policy. This forms an essential part of Vingino's mission regarding sustainability and growth. Therefore, Vingino has joined the BSCI and the German organization "Der Grüne Punkt".

The BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) is a progressive initiative that supports retailers, importers, and companies in improving working conditions at their suppliers: factories and farms worldwide. The goal is a world of free trade and sustainable global supply chains, where factories and farms comply with national labor laws and the conventions of international organizations that protect workers' rights. Der Grüne Punkt is the logo of a European network of industry-funded systems for recycling packaging materials and consumer goods. The basic idea of "Der Grüne Punkt" is that consumers who see the logo know that we, as producers, contribute to the costs of processing and recycling packaging waste.

Below we explain how we intend to achieve this:

a: Our business standards.
These set out our human rights requirements.

b: Environmental standards.
Compliance with environmental, health, and safety legislation is required for this.

Documentation that our partners must maintain. This requires facts and evidence for overall compliance with our requirements.

A: Code of Conduct
LOVE FOR DENIM BV and its entities (hereinafter "Vingino") oblige all their sellers and suppliers to observe the following code of conduct:
General principle - Vingino's sellers and suppliers must act fully in accordance with all national and local laws, regulations, and rules applicable to their business activities.
Labor standards - with regard to the employment of all Vingino employees, sellers and suppliers must adhere to the following code of conduct:

  1. Forced labor: Vingino's sellers and suppliers are not allowed to use forced labor, whether in the form of prison labor, contract labor, slave labor, or otherwise. No employee can be forced to work through violence, the threat of violence, or any form of intimidation.

  2. Child labor: Vingino's sellers and suppliers may not employ individuals who are younger than 15 years old (or 14 years old if legally permitted), or who have not yet reached the age at which they are no longer subject to compulsory education in their country of employment, if that age is higher than 15 years.

  3. Harassment or abuse: Vingino's sellers and suppliers must acknowledge that their employees have the right to a workplace free from physical, sexual, psychological, or verbal harassment or abuse, and they must treat employees with respect and dignity.

  4. Discrimination: Vingino's sellers and suppliers are not allowed to discriminate in employment, including recruitment, salaries, benefits, promotions, training, disciplinary measures, termination of employment, or retirement; on the basis of gender, race, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, political opinion, or social or ethnic origin.

  5. Freedom of association and collective bargaining: Vingino's sellers and suppliers must recognize and respect the right of employees to form or join associations of their own choosing and to bargain collectively.

  6. Salaries: Vingino's sellers and suppliers recognize that employees must be fully compensated for the hours they have worked and that they must receive a clear written overview of this for each pay period. Sellers and suppliers must pay employees at least
    a) the legal minimum wage or
    b) the prevailing wage in the relevant industry, but always the higher of the two. In addition to their compensation for normal working hours, employees must be compensated for overtime, receiving at least the legally required premium. In countries where such legislation does not exist, they must in any case receive more than their regular hourly wage.

  7. Working hours: Vingino's sellers and suppliers may not require their employees to work more than sixty hours per week or the legally permitted number of hours on a regular basis, whichever is shorter, including overtime. Sellers and suppliers must give employees at least one day off on a regular basis during a seven-day period, as well as an annual paid vacation in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

  8. Benefits: Vingino's sellers and suppliers must provide their employees with all legally required benefits.

  9. Health and safety: Vingino's sellers and suppliers must provide a safe and healthy working environment, including but not limited to adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation, and protection against fire, accidents, and hazardous substances. Employees must at all times have access to sanitary facilities that are proper and clean. If living quarters are provided to employees, the same criteria apply.

B: Environment
Vingino's sellers and suppliers must comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations and strive for environmental protection. Sellers and suppliers must also take the environment and safety into account in their business operations by using raw materials and energy sparingly, reducing emissions, implementing an environmentally friendly purchasing policy, and preventing pollution.

C: Documentation and monitoring
Vingino's sellers and suppliers must maintain all documents that demonstrate compliance with this policy and all applicable laws and regulations, and provide these to Vingino if Vingino requests them. Furthermore, Vingino has the right to conduct inspections or to have such inspections carried out by an independent monitor designated by Vingino to determine whether sellers and suppliers comply with Vingino standards and applicable laws and regulations, with or without prior notice, and sellers and suppliers must accept such inspections.
